Engaged by a liquid crystal device company interested in integrating intelligent, high-performance electrical functionality with ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) optoelectronic switching elements
- Worked with company scientists to develop process technology for integration of liquid crystal layers atop silicon VLSI
- Designed, laid out, and tested a dozen backplane implementations, including the first demonstration of a silicon-FLC spatial light modulator/microdisplay
